入行經過：

1986 年參加香港電台全港業餘 DJ 大賽，取得冠軍，然後加入 DJ 訓練班（同屆學員還包括周慧敏、李克勤、阮兆祥、陳漢詩等），畢業後全職港台。

工作經驗：

87 至 96 期間，曾先後任職三間電台之音樂總監、節目監製及主持。

97 年應邀轉投香港滾石唱片，任職外語唱片部門總經理；翌年調升為董事總經理，兼顧港台兩地滾石歌手於香港之唱片事務。

2000 年自組互聯網製作公司，同時兼任新城節目策略顧問、 Business Project Director 及客席主持。同年創辦香港首個流行音樂網站【 So Channel 】，後由 Tom.com 所收購。

2001 年起，自資創辦同志網上電台（ GayStation.com.hk ），為首位將電台廣播服務推展至互聯網平台之本地廣播人。後因金融風暴和 IT 泡沫爆破等客觀因素衝擊下，被逼在 2003 年終止網上廣播。

2003 年應新城之請，兼任【嘉士伯音樂新朋道】節目之客席主持，專責訪問著名歌手及音樂人。同年兼任新城項目總監，專責為新世界電訊開辦多元消費流行音樂網站 NWTmusic.com ， 04 年更為網站正式推出正版音樂下載服務，參與唱片公司單位包括 EMI, UMG, Silly Thing, Music Nation, East Asia … 等。

2005 年開始應邀北上出任 廣州聲色傳播 副總經理，專責電台路線策略、頻道包裝、主持人培訓、市場創意推廣、數據增值開拓。繼 07 年前與廣州電台 FM106.1之深度合作後，06 年 11 月起，廣州聲色傳播 正式成為 廣東電台 FM 107.7 調頻之獨家總代理，梁兆輝出任該頻度之節目總監。除日常之行政工作外，周日中午 (1100-1300) 亦客串主持內地音樂節目 – 【輝遊記】。

2006 年 5 月起，應香港電台之請，每星期回港主持周六晚之【自己人】，及周日晚之【輝遊記】。

2010年，由香港記者協會、香港外國記者會及國際特赦組織主辦的第14屆「人權新聞獎」，梁兆輝為香港電台主持的「自己人」節目榮獲「中文電台」組別之冠軍大獎。

同年在黃耀明邀請下，出任香港知名獨立音樂廠牌「人山人海」的創作總監。

Biography of Brian Leung

Brian Leung (Siu Fai), Hong Kong’s renowned radio personality and music critic, has been working in the local broadcasting industry for 2 decades. Over the years, Mr. Leung had taken up the post of music director for all of the three radio stations in Hong Kong – Radio Television Hong Kong, Commerical Radio and MetroBroadcast. His specialty is international music and repertoire. Even with a habit of moving from one channel to another, Mr. Leung still maintains a strong sense of integrity in his choice of music for his own shows as well as the overall music direction for the channels. From pop to modern rock to alternative to trip hop to dance to electronica… Brian’s shows have always been inspiring and ahead of the times.

Back in the mid-90’s, Mr. Leung was recruited by the famous (Taiwan)Rock Records as the MD for their Hong Kong office. His initial task was to set up Rock International, catering to the promotional and distributing needs of the licensed international labels, including Jive, Mute and Beggars Banquet. That’s when the then newly launched acts, such as Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, enjoyed their first big break in the Pan-Asian region.

Mr. Leung was also a pioneer in other endeavours -

He launched his own web production company, So Corporation, back in 2000 in the heat of the first global IT crave. Apart from being the editorial contractor for the music contents of a number of portal sites (such as Tom.com), he also started a LGBT webcast – GayStation.com.hk. That was the very first LGBT netcast in Asia, streaming well-produced net programs on LGBT culture and issues. In 2003, he also launched a LGBT dating and friend-finding site, Member2.com, as a side-line venture.

Back in 2005, Mr. Leung was recruited as DGM by Singshine Communications, a Guangzhou-based renowned media company that specializes in radio programming, productions, sales, and marketing. Recently, Singshine Communications signed a long-term contract with Guangdong Radio, acting as the sole license for one of their channels, FM107.7. Mr. Leung was appointed as the Program Director for that channel. He is the first Hong Kong broadcaster that works within the Guangdong Radio institution.

As of late, Brian travels between Guangzhou and Hong Kong on a weekly basis. On top of his radio management work in Guangzhou, he’s invited by Radio Television Hong Kong to guest-host two shows back in Hong Kong during the weekends -

In 2010, Brian’s RTHK program “We Are Family” was awarded the Winner Prize (Chinese radio category) in the 14th Annual Human Rights Press Award, organized by Hong Kong Journalists Association, The Foreign Correspondents’ Club and Amnesty International.

Brian is now the Creative Director of Hong Kong’s renowned indie music label: People Mountain People Sea, created by Anthony Wong Yiu Ming.
